// WHAT'S IN MY MAKEUP BAG? //

HELLO

It's Molly here and today I'm going to be talking about what is in my makeup bag - so basically the makeup in my collection that I use the most frequently. I just wanted to say before I begin that I do not use every single one of these products on my face at once, I simply like to have options for when I travel etc.

Firstly, the makeup bag I store my products in is the Medium Tatum Print Tana Lawn Wash Bag from Liberty. I really enjoy using this bag because it is both practical and pretty. It is made out of Coated Cotton, therefore it is wipeable (this is handy if makeup is spilt within it). These bags come in all different shapes / sizes / patterns for you to choose from, but I personally went for this one as the colours are so vibrant and summery. They range in price depending on which one you choose, this one is £25.

 // BASE MAKEUP //

I don't wear makeup everyday as I try an avoid caking a lot of cosmetics on when it isn't necessary, also I have acne so I do my best to keep a clean face at all times. However when I do apply base makeup, my usual routine consists of a primer, foundation or BB cream, concealer on areas that need extra coverage and then a powder to set it all. Recently I have been using the products as shown above. On days in which I want to go for a full coverage, I will use the Clinique foundation, however on occasions when I want my makeup to be lighter I use the Benefit BB Cream - it really depends on how I am feeling that day.

 // CHEEKS //

If you can't already tell, contouring products are my favourite part of my makeup bag and I really enjoy having lots of options for achieving different looks. Recently with my cheeks I have been very focused around highlighting the tops of my cheeks, so I have been switching between my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish and my Nars Highlighting Blush.

In my makeup bag, I currently have two different blush type products to choose from - one with a powder formula and one that is more of a cream to powder. Fleur Power by Mac is a really pretty pink colour that goes well with all makeup, however the one issue I have is that it is very pigmented and therefore it is easy to apply too much. Benefit Fine-One-One is an interesting product, it is multi use (designed for both lips and cheeks) however I mostly use it for my cheeks as it can be drying on the lips. This product consists of 3 different shades to add dimension to the face. I really like this blush because it is easy to apply and has good staying power.

The bronzer I have been using recently is from the Riri Hearts Powder Blush Duo that launched in Autumn 2013. Unfortunately this product was limited edition, but I also love Nars Laguna Bronzer. It is quite dark and very warm toned in the pan, but it doesn't transfer onto the face as such an extreme colour - as I am relatively pale it does require blending to avoid harsh lines.

 // EYES //

In terms of eyes, I have been keeping my makeup really simple - typically just mascara and filling in my brows because I prefer to experiment more with my contour / lips. However, if I have more time I will do a bit of simple eyeshadow using my Naked 2 palette.

 // LIPS //

From left to right: EOS Lipbalm (Strawberry Sorbet)Benefit BeneBalmUrban Decay Lip Junkie in Naked (mini), Media Lipstick in PK-20 (I bought this in China and I can't find it anywhere online) and the Mac Lipliner - In Anticipation.

I have always favoured matte lipsticks over products with more of a shine, however it being summer means I want something less heavy and more moisturising so I have been leaning towards balms and glosses. I have two lip balms in my makeup bag currently - BeneBalm and an EOS. Personally, I do not understand the hype around the EOS lip balms, I bought some whilst in Hong Kong as they work out to be about £2 there rather than £7 at Topshop / Urban Outfitters. Since trying them, I don't think I would be willing to repurchase, especially in the UK.

 // BRUSHES //

Real Techniques brushes are a blogger favourite, and rightly so because I think they are amazing quality for the price you pay. These brushes are so easy to clean and a good size for travelling. For applying my finishing powder, I use the Mac 134 Brush - which is really soft and outstanding quality but very expensive, priced at £40.

If you would like a more detailed review of any of the products shown above, please feel feel to ask.

GOODBYE FOR NOW
MOLLY x
